Since 1990, You Beautiful Black Woman has been a home of sisterhood, leadership, and cultural empowerment. Since arriving at Eastern Michigan University in 2000, YBBW has dedicated itself to uplifting women, celebrating Black culture, and creating meaningful change on campus and in the community.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to culturally enhance the campus and increase society’s awareness of women. We do this through a wide range of educational, social, and service-focused events that bring students together, spark important conversations, and build lifelong connections.
Each year, we host workshops, community service initiatives, panels, social events, and campus-wide programs designed to inspire confidence, unity, and growth among young women. But none of this is possible without support.
